Working with Shame: For Therapists, Coaches, and Healers

Shame is a key to working with clients when:

  • their process is impacted by earlier abuse or parental complexes
  • they don’t seem to make sustainable change in certain areas
  • they are plagued by self-negating inner criticism
  • they hold an underlying belief that something is wrong with them
  • they wrestle with addictions or chronic addictive tendencies
  • they are unsupported in the family or culture they live in

This class will help you identify the role shame plays in your clients’ processes as well as ways of working with them in order to support their healing. The class consists of mini-lectures, teaching stories, discussion, modeling, and exercises. In addition, you will have the opportunity to bring your most urgent and difficult cases forward for study and understanding, allowing you to improve your work with those clients and to explore your own growing edges in becoming a more skilled and empowered healer.

DATES: Fridays, January 12th, 19th, and 26th; February 9th, 16th, and 23rd

TIMES & FORMATS: This is an online video conference group. Each class will be 1 hr. 30 min. long (the first class will go 15 min. longer). Class begins at 4:00pm U.S. Mountain Time (6pm EST, 3pm PST, Saturday morning in Australia).

COST: $225 U.S.

REGISTRATION: To register, you must make your payment by the end of day January 11th. If you have any problems registering, email Leila at

SAFETY AND VULNERABILITY: Participating in a class like this can be scary for some. I understand that, which is why the first class will focus on our vulnerabilities and making a safe, shame free, environment for us to go deeply into the learning. Participants of my classes always report being awed by the way I and others create such a loving and judgement-free space to grow in. In fact, many find the group learning to be the most healing part of these groups.

This class is now full. Please email David at if you would like information on the next holding of this class.
